When those kids get out of school and have to support themselves, they'll be in for a RUDE awakening. You'll get out, get a decent job, and then move out of the student lifestyle. No more futons, cheap beer, ramen noodles, crappy apartments, etc. Most normal people grounded in reality think of this as a step up, the next logical step from a good education. The kid driving a $40,000 car will probably want another one in a few years, but will realize just how difficult it is to buy one on an entry level salary. My wife and I are both engineers and we wouldn't *want* the payment on a $40,000+ car. Could we afford it, yes. Want to piss that money away on a car, no. That's my view of reality...
I hate to say it, but the kid in the Ferarri will probably never have to worry about money. If he plays the cards right, he'll be a trust fund baby for life. There will always be those people around. They don't think of money the way most of us do.
