Pulling into my high school's student-only parking lot (in Bergen County, New Jersey) was quite a trip. The number of new BMWs was unfathomable; that marque proved to fill the preponderance of parking spaces. (One 5-series, Two 330xi's, and in my senior year, a fricken' UGLY AS ASS 7-series.) But the Range Rover 4.6 HSE was vomitrociously popular as well (you know, for all those dangerous trips to Abercrombie & Fitch), one in olive green, one in black, and another in a reddish color. One girl drove a blue Audi A8L, another drove a black Audi S4 but totalled it and got a silver S4 a month later. A friend of mine drove a white Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG, yeah, that one almost burned my ass. I also remember a friend's gold Volvo S60 (AWD), and of course the obligatory black Cadillac Escalade EXT.
I can assure you, I never got jealous. People would say, "God, wouldn't you just die to have that car?" I would say, "Yes, so I could sell it an buy a Saab or two."
The ignition to *MY* car is located between the two front seats, thank you very much.
