I never thought that the brand of Diesel would make a difference. I'll take a look to see if the closest Amoco sells Diesel. Currently using Hess.
The car is running in great shape, lots of torque, just takes awhile to start up in the cold mornings. (one thing I can say, it starts up on its own, especially the past couple of days when the weather hae been below 20F.
I'll take a look for the oil and conditioner.
Funny story, which my brother told me. He has had the car now for about 3 years, bought it used from a first owner who was moving out of state (Hawaii). Bodywise the car is in great shape, just a large scratch on the trunk (about 6 inches but not serious) with the interior being in good condition, except for a missing segment on the drivers seat, and a crack on the dash. Transmission lags a bit, but spoke to a mechanic and said that it is perfectly normall for the age/mileage of the car. Either way, in the 3 years he has had the car, and gone about his usual routines, he has had one person wait for him next to the car asking him if he was interested in selling, and three other notes left on the windshield stating "If you are interested in selling the car, please give me a call." Surprising, as the car is not of "classic" stage yet, and that most people who purchased this vehicle used it as a daily driver and not a collectors item.
Right now, just came back from a 300 mile trip, and the ride was comfortable and relaxing, while spending less than $14 in gas. Maybe Saab should consider a diesel in the US also.
