was done by Lexus 10 years ago. The camera was mounted in the car, looking out the windshield. As the car drove down the road, they'd remove first one source of noise after another. First, they took out the gear noise, then road noise, finally, wind noise, leaving you to listen to what you wanted, some pleasant music.
It used the medium (TV) in the way TV is uniquely able to be used. The ad put the viewer in the car and demonstrated in a sensory way, why the car was superior. How cool!
Cadillac, and others would rather present some self-important looking person or couple in one of their cars. The viewer is supposed to want to be those people. Presumably the car will impart status. Pretty shallow.
