the traffic is AWFUL. period. metro is definitely the way to go if you have to go into the city. I would metro more often, but it isn't that convenient to the tyson's corner area (NoVa).
PG and Charles counties can be very nice areas to live. the cost of living is high, but not as bad in those two counties (compared to Montgomery Co. where i live).
i do agree, you should try and plan a visit. you may love it, or you may find that it is not for you. i grew up here, went away for four years, and moved right back. i love it, but it can be maddening.

of course you could join our local saab club (WASSAAB)!
