I won't deny their talent, I just prefer DMB's style over Phish. What live DMB shows do you have? Live at Red Rocks is amazing.
Maybe I'm not listening correctly, it seems that alot of Phish songs are about the jam, and the lyrics were almost an afterthought, and added just for the sake of having lyrics. Dave writes some really beautiful, inspiring songs. Thats why I prefer DMB's overall package. My brother's highschool English class studied some DMB songs as poetry.
Its really a matter of taste too. Just because a band is talented, it doesn't mean that I'm going to like their sound. I can respect Phish's ability, but the music doesn't do it for me.
