Well if you really want to help him decide on a new car - stop fixing his old car for him. I did all that stuff for my son's car while he went to college and maybe he appreciates it but I'm not really sure. But it's now 4 yrs since he's graduated and with little more than oil changes the 1997 Honda Passpot continues to hum along at 200k + miles.
