> Gas is cheap. If you have a car that gets good mileage it's just not a huge factor.
$3.3-3.5 per gallon for premium at 16 mpg is my basis for comparison to $0.14 per kW.
Hard to find a 450 hp RWD chassis car to compare to a 450 hp Tesla that gets "good mileage." We are not talking Prius level cars here. I also don't drive automatics.
When I mention my personal experience I am talking about actual dollar amounts I am paying. I used to spend $400-500 per month on gas doing about 150 miles per day on very challenging roads (think Rallye Deutschland) compared to $60-100 spent on electricity. On top of that, I used to have to buy gas almost every day, which was super inconvenient. People say you can get gas anywhere but for me it is not true at all. There are very few gas stations around places where I drive and most are closed at night. One of the biggest advantages is that my electric car is always full in the morning.
