Until recently I had a 2002 Mercedes CLK with 85,000 miles, purchased new and never driven in winter. I put $2000 in it at first and after a year it needed another $3000. I'd fix one thing and two more things would crop up. And after looking at the things that could go wrong on the forums that was just a drop in the bucket. And it only got 17 mpg. At the end of the summer I cut it loose. If you didn't get leather you could get a CRV (or Rav4 or MX5 etc.) for $200 a month. I don't know else what you could realistically drive for $2,400 a year--maybe a moped. You cough up two bills a month and for that you get a roomy, safe, economical, all-wheel-drive vehicle with all the latest gizmos--and no worries. It's a Honda, if you take care of it, it'll never do you wrong.
