I saw a really nice 3 series wagon parked at the gas pump next to me when I was driving to the Montreal F1 Grand Prix last month. I spoke to the driver a bit and he loves his manual wagon as much as I loved mine. Getting something similar was in the back of my mind.

A BMW manual wagon would be too old If I bought locally. I'd be concerned about rust starting. And unfortunately I didn't have time to look for, buy, and ship a western/southern states car.
