I've rented both a 300 Touring (3.5l) and a Magnum SXT (3.5l) as well as test-driven a Magnum Hemi. I dig the way both cars look, to be honest, and strongly considered the Magnum as a successor to my Alfa. I agree that visibility isn't great, but it's the price you pay for a low roofline and high beltline.
I'd agree with just about everyting dtech said... The 3.5l moves both cars along acceptably, but the hemi-powered Magnum is just bloody quick for a car of its size.
Interior-wise, both cars are nearly identical, though the loaded Magnum was much nicer than the "base" 300 Touring. The inclusion of Bluetooth & MP3 capability on the "infotainment" system in the Magnum was pretty nice. My only complaints are the fact that TCS is never truly off, and the sloping roofline on the Magnum does impact cargo capacity. Honestly, though, I'd never really consider loading any $40,000 car to the ceiling, so it wouldn't have been a major concern for me.
All said and done, there's a high probability a Magnum is in my future yet. I just couldn't quite bring myself to offloading the Alfa to put one in the driveway...
