The ESP (electronic stability program) is what DCX calls it... the on/off switch doesn't in fact turn it on or off, it switches it from full-function to reduced-function mode. In the "off" position it allows for a little wheelspin and a little more fun, but there is no way to turn it entirely off. Kind of a bummer, really, but I can't imagine really wanting to push a 4000lb beast of a car around a racetrack anyway, so no big loss in my mind...
The hemi has a 5-speed MB transmission - it's silky-smooth and really a good match for the engine. It is too bad the V6s don't get this box, but hey, whaddaya want for <$30k?
On a side note, in Europe they sell the 300C Estate - a wagon version of the 300. I imagine it wouldn't sell here at all, but from the outside it looks like it's the ultimate expression of this platform.
