So why doesn't Toyota do the right thing?..... It would seem to me the best solution would be to install the LATCH system on these vehicles and also the new trucks. They could recoup the cost of the LATCH system on the new vehicles via adjusting the sticker price (if it really is that much more expensive), and they clearly have Billions of dollars from which to pay for the cost of the recall on the older trucks.
I'll wait to see if their decision is accompanied by the resounding public outcry which would result if one of the Detroit based manufacturers took a similar action.
