Even the 2.6 with a stick is quite slow. Certainly much slower than a non-turbo NG900 with a stick.

190D is glacial... But boy, is it solid, quiet and comfortable! Amazing ride quality on bad roads.

As far as biodegradable wiring, Mercedes started using it around 93-94 and both W124 and W202 were severely affected. If you look for a pre-97 car, make sure to find one with a documented wiring harness replacement or repair.

If you want RWD, E36/46 BMW is the one to get. Find one with up to date maintenance and good records and you will not be sorry.
