drive them 'till the wheels fall off and invest a car payment to make $ on the interest from it instead of pay interest... The slush fund will be useful to deal with any repairs you may incur and if you hit a really big problem, you can ditch the offending car and have a down payment in the bank for a new car. Car technology is changing quickly at the moment, and every year you can hold out will get you something quite a bit better imho. The 9-5 is currently almost worthless used (maybe $3k), so you have very little to lose. I would go over the items noted on the same thread on the 9-5bb just to make sure you don't get stranded from a water pump or fuel pump... otherwise, just enjoy the car... the 9-5 is something special and hard to replace! Personally, I'm just going to keep driving our saabs for now, and wait and see how a few manufacturers I'm quite interested in (Tesla, Volvo, Nevs) and all the rest of the car market evolve. The standard product 3-5 years ago may be quite different than what everyone drives today! Exciting times. Too bad SAAB has been forced to take a back seat, when imho they could have been at the forefront (remember the through the road AWD hybrid vert show car, rumoured to be a (GM quashed) plug in, back a decade or so ago?)...
