Considering a car to replace the wife's 9-3. I'm interested in the V60. It wouldn't be a replacement for my '07, as the carrying capacity isn't close to being comparable.
A big impediment to the V60 (or S60) is the seats. Their base and sport versions both seem to get good marks for comfort, but the durability is my concern. I've seen far too many posts on the BB's describing warranty work to repair color loss, tears and other wear issues. Local Volvo (and SAAB) dealer has 2011 S60 on the lot with less than 30k miles, and the driver's seat looks more worn than my '07 with 97k miles.
Perhaps Volvo seats of old held up well, but any experience with the new S60/V60?
What about C-Class? I want to assume that the E-Class has leather good or better than what I'd had with SAAB premium seats, but what about the newer C-Class? I was also surprised to see so many C's sold with their synthetic MB-Tex. The snob in me certainly wants leather, and I suspect that no synthetic will feel the same, but does this hold up better than most leather seats? A quick look at new and used C's appears that MB-Tex is in 3/4ths of them.
Audi and BMW also have synthetics as base, even in A-6's. Any opinions on their versions?
I want assume that all these brands have comfortable seats, at least close to the incredible Aero seats.
