for 36 month lease on a new Maserati Ghibli. So that's $20k plus $4/5K down. I'm guessing a ten year old one would sell in that range. While you would own it and have some value when you sold it, the wild card is what it would cost to own it. Maserati was pretty shaky ten years ago, hard to say how well supported cars from that era are, what parts cost and if some are even available. The Ferrari dealer once told me the 20,000 mile service is $20K so it could be similar. I'd sure want to know what a timing belt service cost and if had been done (you might have to pull the engine, who knows). While $25k to drive a new Maserati for three years might sound like a lot, in the world of having fun it's not so bad. It wouldn't buy much of a boat, in fact you can drop $1000 a month just to dock a boat. It would only be a down payment on any kind of motor home. A basic, single engine airplane would cost at least $30k, and that's for a 30 year old one. If the guy really wants a Maserati, leasing would make it fun experience, buying has a high probability of being a nightmare.
