Part of why I sold my 900 TC was the inability to find someone who could work on it--they are pretty unique and require specific knowledge. It was going to need a trans and I don't know of anyone within a 1000 miles who could rebuild one or convert it to a 5 speed. The NG/9-3's are much more conventional and pretty much any place that works on European cars of any kind can work on them and find parts. Of course if you don't have anyone like that near by then I can see it. That's one of the things that got me into a Wrangler--a chimp can work on them.
