yes the T5 ecu will adapt to my knowledge...i ran mine that way for quite awhile before i coud get my ecu. The ecu's are mapped for certain upgrades i believe the ic i use flows near what the recommended upgrade ic's do but there really isnt a problem anyway...trionic is smart enough to compensate for something it cant handle so your maps may not be used to their full potential but you wont really notice when your holding on for dear life...subaru engine management is no where near our stuff (not to knowck the cars as i used to have one) but just know you need an upgrade ecu soon
