Now that you have read most of the posts on this subject...I will relate my story. I have 3 9K's...An Aero and 2 CSE Anni's. All have the exact same suspension and vary in milage from 85k to 180+K. My Aero had a blown strut....so, I need to replace it. The stock units are no longer available. I searched everywhere trying to find a set. After reviewing many posts on 3 BB's re' Bilstein, Koni, Boge/Sachs etc, etc. I opted for the replacement Sachs units. I have a couple thousand miles on them and love 'em. They are very firm...not hard. FIRM. I also changed the bushings and used the Abbott front control arm bushes. The over all result is that the car drives like new. If you are looking for flatter cornering...struts will not get you there. You need to use firmer sway bars and/or bushings to get the desired result. A really good setup that uses stock struts and springs is to switch out bushings and add a rear sway bar stiffener...like the Abbott unit.
I do believe the Konis are a good choice(although a real PITA to insert correctly into old Aero struts). I have heard when installing them to adjust them at the softest setting for a few hundred miles...then adjust to desired ride.
Good luck.
