lots of cars have them, it is necessary for the distributor, and even on cars that have the dist elsewhere it makes it easier to machine the cam journals.
either find tamper-proof torx bits somewhere ( easier than it was a few years ago) or just take a small screwdriver and pop the pin out. just flex it a bit to break it off (the pin that makes it tamper-proof) and it'll not bother you ever again.
