a year ago, and then realized i wrote it! it was in like 1997 or 98 that i was playing with the advance cap on my volvo 240 turbo, and had a brainstorm. i wrote it up for turbobricks mailing list, and didn't think about it for years.
yeah, the idea is to increase the advance all the time except when under boost, to get off the line quicker (my volvo was an auto, a AW-71)
it sure is crude, but in a clever sort of way.
not sure i was the first to think it up, but i am sure i didn't read it somewhere.
