Basically the stop determines "the range of the capsule" however there is of course enough travel to bent the stop all you want. The early SPG9 A.I.D.'s had the stop removed which was about the worst thing they could have done, in other words it would retard twice the amount needed. Anyway JAK's method is correct but it can be done without removing the unit by inserting a 5/32" (4mm) rod around 4" long into the rivet looking thing that attaches the stop and gently lifting up on it while a timing light in in place. Just set your timing where you want it (20 Deg BTDC depending on your altitude) and tweak the stop to where it's 10 Deg BTDC with say 20psi simulated with a hand or bicycle pump. This is an improvement but remember that the biggest problem with these modules is that they retard practically all at once because the factory spring is way too weak. For your heavier CV with an auto I wouldn't get to carried away but one of JAK's down pipes would be nice. I'd go with some 34# injectors and one of JAK's fuel chips with your 3 bar fuel pressure regulator. Also an MSD-BTM would be way overkill fore your purposes especially when my latest A.I.D.'s or Brad's modified unit (which cost less) works better in a C900T street application. Also most people don't realize that one of Erik P's modified APC's is a night and day difference from a DIY unit, last week I loaned a friend one and he couldn't believe the
difference over his home grown unit! What would make your auto really fun to drive would be a TE05 Mitsubishi turbo, ('90 SPG and '91 -'93 C900T's) in stock form they spool up very fast! Dave
