Poly trans bushing killed my tranny?

I have a 2001 9-5 Aero. I upgraded the front transmission mount to the Genuine Saab Poly bushing. 6 months later no more 3rd and 4th gears. My Saab mechanic pulled out the trans and mentioned that the stiff bushing may have caused the tranny to fail. He said he heard about this from another shop. They claim the stiff bushing causes too much "shock" on the shift pin or shaft? This guy really knows Saabs, that's all he works on and I trust his opinion, but I want to know is anyone has heard of this before I source an OEM bushing
