Gavin and I traded direct emails, but I thought I'd share, now that I see this thread. I have the Zeitronix/Bosch widebande O2 sensor in the downpipe from the old Group 9 3" exhaust. So it's not in the casting, like stock, but it's not 16" from the turbo, either.
I haven't had any noticeable starting or running problems and the A/F ratio seems right. The only minor annoyances are (1) probably due to my amateur wiring and (2) the digital boost sensor is too sensitive in cold weather -- in digitally 'pins' at about 25 psi when I punch it and it's below about 35 OAT.
Also, I'm just curious -- if you use EGT to help judge mixture, why do you need it if you have a direct measurement of mixture in the A/F meter?
