of that area. i've checked the archives and there was only one mention of 'getting the water lines' when procuring 2.1L gear, and it was that vague.
I think the solution is to cut the angled mounting bracket off the turbo cooling feed line where it attaches to the thermo housing.
then the line can shift upward and make room for the coolant hard pipe to go up to its mounting place (the rear mount that is).
I'll wait for pics. the coolant line i have does mount between runners 3 and 4. I've never seem the later one which you say comes right off the head.
