Now-AeroDave sold a bunch of these years ago. I'd set it at 16BTDC at idle and make dang sure it's ported to the before-throttle blade port at the throttle body. It's not supposed to be manifold vacuum...only ported vacuum (which is manifold vacuum with throttle open).
The AID give additional pressure retard over the stock pot. That being said, I've set mine at 20 degrees BTDC with no adverse effects (run 93 or better fuel!) and 18psi boost. Gives a little better bottom end torque which helps on my automatic transmission holeshot (or hole poop as it were...not particularly fast).
