I thought we only did one 8 valve A.I.D. at SPG9, it was for a friend that ended up donating that car later on so he gave the unit back so I'd have an 8 valve one to go by to make more down the road. Anyway I guess we must have made two of them? At one point the owner of SPG9 decided to remove the retard stop (wrong way to go!) so make sure yours does in fact still have the stop, just look for the rivet that holds it in place to make sure it's still there? My latest versions now have a special tool that allows the stop to be slightly tweaked with no removal necessary for fine tuning. You first set your timing to somewhere in the 20 degrees BTDC range and then simulate pressure to the unit while your timing light is still in place and adjust the stop to 10 degrees +-1 degree BTDC. I'll send you my latest instructions later from the computer I use over at Lesco and let me know if you'd like me to send you the stop adjustment tool? Dave at SPG9
