WOW!!! you guys have been a great help here!! If you saw what I was up against??/ the rule is written very gray and not easy to understand. If we were all racing the way the rule is written,our throttle bodies would be about the size of "SILVER DOLLARS"!!!!
I'll try to copy and paste the section in our rule book:
A. CARBURETOR
Any single or 2 barrel carburetor including Holley #4412 OEM. Must run a maximum spacer adapter of 1” including gaskets. NO MODIFICATION OF ANY KIND will be allowed to these carburetors except the removal of the choke plate and shaft. BOX STOCK ONLY! The jets may be changed as needed. Conventional round type air cleaners only. NO air induction plastic carburetor inserts or other devices to direct air into the intake. ALL CARBURETORS MUST REMAIN UNDER THE HOOD. Throttle area not to exceed 43mm (1 11/16”). Fuel injection allowed stock on fuel injected engines.
B. INTAKE MANIFOLD
NO altering of manifolds: ONLY exception is where it accepts the carburetor or spacer plate. Fuel injected manifolds on fuel injected systems, i.e. carburetor manifolds used on carburetor systems only.
The "CARB" rule appears as though it is written for CARBS but these TECH INSPECTERS insist on measuring throttle bodies!!! my argument would be the last sentence under the CARBURETOR section;
Fuel injection allowed stock on fuel injected engines.(with "STOCK" being the key word for FUEL Injected engines.
