All cars are not created equal, same goes with tuners and now you can pretty much have your car tuned the way you want-lot's more torque, etc.
Don't even think about a stage 2, just go to 4 has you will have all the supporting hardware. Spinning in third is because of the small turbo and great torque they have, but get some sticky tires, lower it, etc and put the traction to the ground (tires, tires, tires). My car spun the crap out of it in second, but new tires helped that pretty much go away (and the tune helps). Not sure what you mean by your 9000 just standing there, do you mean lag?
Getting below 6 will be tough, but with the right setup you might hit it. Can't comment on launches as that is what kills these trannies.
