Chose the regulator over the chip because it was purchased and mounted in the car over a year ago, just not plumbed in until last week. Oh, to procrastinate. Plan to switch the 3.0 bar (currently on-line) fpr for a 2.8 or 2.5 bar, whichever works best with the rrfpr. Initial results indicate the 3.0 bar is too much, but satisfied with the power delievery in the upper rev. range, unit removed the stacato in the power curve. Purchased the regulator from Swedish Dynamics. Talked to I believe Eric at Scanwest abount the transmission. After engine is out plan to send trans. to Seattle to undergo the beef-cake upgrade, then keep as a spare. Cost is in the 4k range. Plan to use a '91 transmission (basic refurbishing with limited slip differential) in upcoming rebuild, understand it's a tougher unit than a stock '88 (opinions welcomed on this point). But, it's still summer and the SiS begs to be driven. When the snow flies, the fun will begin. Thanks for the support comment. Don't get many. Most consider the extent I am changing the SiS to be extreme and risk destroying the cars intrinsic value. Since I've saved every part pulled from the car I will wait until I see an SiS on the Barret / Jackson auction block before returning the car to stock.
