My primary analysis was that the 'rate' would be relative to the outside diameter as long as the tube walls and alloy are such that the tube doesn't deflect when twisted.
My knowledge of such is very limited and brings more questions than answers.
?? Does the full cross section of a solid bar add stiffness in twist?
?? Does tube need to be larger to equal solid?
?? Does tube in any way provide more 'progressive' than solid?
Thoughts that started this were relative to wanting minor effect in first degree of one side moving relative to the other, but wanting to keep the amount of movement side vs side to be limited. RE: prooblems with clearances when going up a driveway 'ramp' at an angle vs straight on.
?? and to add more ? Is a straight bar without 'shape' for clearances more or less stiff?
