On a c900 you have no room to move outside, you have to move inside. On my setup I have 1/4" or so clearance on the rear upper control links and slightly more on the lower arms. Plenty of clearance. Aero/Super Aero wheels rub easily with a 205 and their ET27 - adding another half inch of wheel width means that needs to come off the offset - 6.5" wide and a ET27 is roughly the same fitment as 7" wide and ET33. You really want to pull the wheels inboard more to avoid fender rubbing. I think 7" and ET37 is about optimal, but the only way to get there is spacers.
On my '86 900S I ran 7" and ET42 with 5mm spacers and a 205/55-16 and it was flawless. On my '90 I did ET40 and a 3mm spacer and a 205/50-16 and it worked great. When we built our Lemons car, we did 7" wide ET40 and 215/40-17 and had zero problems across two full races. The Lemons car weighs a lot less than a street driven c900 and has effectively stiffer springs, but I figured it'd be worth trying on my '85. So far so good, no issues. A couple mm more outboard would look better, but ET40 fits and works great... and I can interchange wheels with my XR4Ti, which is a nice bonus! The XR will fit 225/40-17, so that's my next experience on the c900. I think it should work fine.
