I did notice improvements in my old daily driver with the Amsoil. But I added it after dropping both pans, cleaning the filter and governor and doing a band adjustment. So how much of an improvement the Amsoil made I couldn't say.
I put it in my current daily when I was doing routine maintenance. That transmission was working beautifully and still is. My son thinks it shifts better (firmer), but he's comparing it to the autobox in his '89 900T I think--which is weak.
My son's car needs a tranny fluid change badly. He's got late shifts too. He wants to eventually do a 5-speed swap, so we probably will just change the fluid without doing all the other things to get by for now. That will be a good test as to how the Amsoil compares with standard ATF.
My Saab indy swears by the BG product, but I've never used it.
