Track car? That's a whole other ball of wax. What kind of regs do they have in this class? With a 1/8 mile, you'd want low-end performance I'd think. Grab one of the quicker-spooling TEO5-12B turbos off the late c900s. Lots of people recommend the '85 exhaust cam and any NA intake cam to help out in the low end too. If they allow it, install water/meth injection so you can advance your timing a bunch without detonation. Best bang for the buck. The car will be really zippy. If you install a cone filter to the inner fender, you'll have room for a big pull fan on the intercooler. Make sure that your intercooler is one of the later ones with fewer but larger passages and that you have the larger intercooler pipes. In this case, I think it's OK top keep the SMIC because of the shorter runners. Just do something to increase airflow like popping out the headlight at the track. If you are tracking cars, then I assume you're already familiar with transmission failure trends in high-torque situations. There are certainly better cars suited for the task with torquier motors and stronger transmissions, but I commend you for staying true to your Saabs. If you put a smaller restrictor in the center barb on the APC solenoid, the boost will fly right up immediately. Just be sure you have enough fueling to keep up with it. A mod like that is good for a track car, but it can be problematic on a street car if you aren't diligent about proper fueling. This sounds like fun. Keep us posted on your progress.
