3-inch DP with a Saab/Remus Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 1 Sep 2012 17:12:07 In Reply to: Performance Exhaust, saabsince 93b [Profile/Gallery] , Mon, 27 Aug 2012 09:24:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I believe the Saab/Remus system was 2-1/2 or 2-3/4 inches diameter, smaller than the 3-inch down pipe.
I loved the sound from inside the car but only heard it from outside once - when the new owner was driving it away from my home. A very sweet burble when running steady followed by an unbeliveabe modified V8 like blop-blop-blop-blop sound when the new owner lifted her foot off the throttle to stop at the end of the street.
Now I knew why my car attracted so many looks from pedestrians during the three years I had that system installed!
The sound when doing full throttle acceleration beneath overpasses was enough to make you think the Gates of He** had just been torn assunder! All from an unmodified, untuned, 2.3 liter 4-cylinder with 318K miles.
