The purpose of the AID is to mildly retard the timing under boost instead of just dumping the timing all the way out. You can expect a 10 degree retard out of the vacuum servo --- some people think it is a vacuum advance device, but it is the opposite. Boost retard is present to keep the engine from knocking. The way to counteract that is to put in more fuel ( at the right time and amount ) or to use water injection.
The AID with an adjustment will set the amount of boost retard available to the servo. If your AID has a screw with a stop nut the side, it is set up to limit the timing retardation. You can set up an air regulator to low PSI settings, and adjust the screw to your tuning plan. If you set it for minimum retard, then hopefully a plan to use water injection or another set of injectors run by a Split Second controller would be advisable. That's when it gets more complicated, and of course, more expensive.
