Looks like the best idea is to spring for the properly engineered box from Abbott. It's an interesting thought though what one can do with the external sensors. People made the argument that the mixture would lean out since they are mapped with throttle angle, pressure, temperature etc. I guess I was wondering whether the fuel would be enriched under the non-WOT condition, but it sounds like this may not be part of the control strategy.
What I also want to do is figure out a way by which my water injection system can be used in lieu of boost reduction (within reason) to keep the boost up when detonation might dictate otherwise. Seems like the obvious path is to use the signal that controls the 3-way solenoid that controls the wastegate. Anybody thought about this ? Does water injection effect the detonation sensing ability of the T5/T7 ?
