This may be obvious to some but so far no one has discussed it from this perspective. The Aero and Viggen run a higher base boost than the other turbo models and require a higher octane fuel. The engine management can only reduce boost to the base level to eliminate engine knock. If low octane and extended use of base boost occur then extended engine knock can occur which could damage the engine.
