... it was Mervyn who dynoed my car and I was impressed with what he knew. In turn, I think he was impressed that I turned up with brand new plugs and dump valve fitted.
I'd definitely be interested in seeing the plot from your standard Aero. It does sound as though you are boosting a bit higher than standard, with the usual disclaimer that factory boost gauges vary from car to car. I have a graduated boost gauge you can borrow to confirm it if you like. It's a bit hard to read and I don't know quite how accurate it is, but at least I know what it used to show on my Aero before I modified it, and I don't think it was overboosting. It used to show peak boost at about 1.2 bar, dropping to 1.1, where I believe the '96 and '97 Aeros should peak briefly at 1.08 and drop to 0.98. So if my boost was correct, the gauge is reading about 0.1 bar too high.
I'd also be interested to see the difference the air filter makes.
