i am currently tuning an aftermarket ecu. i am dialing in the base map (3d: rpm, load, ms). the acceleration enrichment feature has 3 controls (all 2-d):
1. load-based enrichment. 0-800% of base map determined from 0 to 107% load. i have found so far that the engine seems to respond best to higher enrichments at lower load point, but requires less at higher loads (maybe the base map is tuned for richer mixtures at higher boost?)
2. temp-based enrichement. 0-100% of base map determined by engine water temp. i haven't messed with this one yet. everything is flat lined so it isn't affecting tuning. my guess is lower engine temps require more enrichment for acceleration than higher temps?
3. rpm-based enrichment. 0-100% of base map for every 125 rpm from 0 to 16000 rpm. you mentioned this above that the stock engine enrichment requires less enrichment at higher rpm? it is even zero? at what rpm are you referring to? above 4000? 5000?
anyway, your thoughts are appreciated as tuning in the blind can be tiresome, but fun..:)
thanks.
