As I said to Dean, the link to the test was done only to provide more info than what I have myself (I am NOT the tester). Yes, the guy who ran the tests seems to like stronger springs, just like you said you're running in your Hyper. I fully agree with the "weak enough but strong enough spring" concept, & since the test showed the Hyper as requiring the least amount of vacuum to open, I'd say that's an excellent reason for getting it & keeping the stock spring & the OE positioning. (Of course, he didn't test Forge's 007P or their Race valve, either.)
I was trying to say that by using a spring force which greatly exceeds the boost pressure, it WILL be closed longer. If you're getting 8# of boost, why bump up the spring rate? Well, going from a 15# spring to a 30# spring will get you: 1) faster on-boost due to closing sooner, & 2) slower off-boost due to opening later (which is why someone with a stronger spring might want to run their valve backwards). However, if you have both a short 15# spring & a long 15# spring, the short one will react more abruptly while the long one will react more gradually.
Your previous responses, which you referenced here, were derogatory and misinformative. All my original post said, was that I wondered if there was enough interest for a group buy. I'd already decided on which valve I was going to buy, & I didn't mention or compare to any other other brand. I wasn't asking for opinions, but I got them. You even felt compelled to berate my choice & promote your own. Perhaps I made a mistake in trying to address the perceived differences.
So if you're still reading this, perhaps you could explain what you see as the "basic misconception of how the valves work" in that comparison. I'm always interested in a better understanding of things.
And in staying relaxed.
