The key could be in using an extrmely mild setting. I did the typical dial it up until CEL and then dialed it back. Maybe I should dial it waaayyy down and try again. The car also has an open intake/high flow delivery pipe and spool up/throttle response is very good without the SMBC so perhaps the affect is more profound on a vehicle with stock intake. The beauty of this modification is that it is super easy to install and very very inexpensive. I see your point regarding the opinion of a Saab employee especially given the fact he was involved in the development of T7. Since T7 is a contantly changing and adapting system, perhaps he felt a little offended someone would take such an advanced system out of the equation with such a simple device.
