Good Question! I know of many people who run Classic 900 rally cars (some of them post on here), I don't know of any NG 900 rally cars in the US (there are of course in Sweden). So, I guess there's a plus -plenty of other people running them- to the C900. Or, you could enjoy being the first with an NG 900!
Basically, I think the C900 would make a better rally car... proven mechanicals, none of the 'wiggly' torque steer issues like the NG 900 has... no end of parts cars to strip... and stuff will be cheaper in general... Between Gary Moore and Scanwest, you will probably be able to get everything you want.
The NG 900 is of course more modern, and more power is probably possible...
the transmission is less likely to break....
And another question... if you're new to rallying (and even if you're not), a naturally aspirated 900 (C or NG) is probably fast enough, and waay cheaper than any turbo....
