hello there,

Thank you for the compliments on my ride! I didn't really do the major major mechanical work, as i had no tools or shop to do the work. I would have liked to do it... but it was unrealistic. In the last few years, between my family home in NY and a few apartments in orlando florida, i've never even had a PARKING garage... so... no space to work on anything.

In the future, since i've learned so much about the car, i will try to work on it myself somehow, somewhere when the opportunity comes around.

anyways...

when i pressurized the crankcase... although it didnt damage the engine directly, the oil had to go somewhere... so the ic or cat right?

i already looked inside the tanks on the ends of the IC, and they weren't FULL or anything, but they had an oily film for sure... i'm guessing the ic has an oily film all throughout it...

...i will just get it cleaned at a local shop around here... i don't think it's very expensive...

what about the cat though? what would oil in the cat do?

it's in very very good exterior condition, it was pretty much brand new when i put in on my car. When i held it up to a light and looked through it, i could actually see some light coming through the material... so... it flowed when i put in on my car... i'm not so sure anymore.

I'm in NY so i think i've got emmissions to worry about... however... i'm about ready to just take the cat off... and punch a hole through it, just friggin GUT the thing so i don't have to worry about it anymore! ;)

that brings a whole new meaning to the word "high flow cat" ;)

does anyone either recommend doing this or not doing this?
