don't blame me if I'm wrong about the type of track you guys race on, since autocrossing doesn't exist where I live.
If you have problems with tight corners try going into them real fast, turning the steering wheel alot -more than would be required to make the turn normally- and loosing front traction, then let of the gas and quickly correct the other way, sliding around the turn. It's a difficult technique to get right consistently though.
Another idea especially good for very tight corners is the handbrake. Go into the turn quite fast with the clutch in and have first gear selected. Turn gently slightly before the turn and pull the handbrake. Let go just before you're facing in the correct direction. You can try keeping second gear, but you really have to slip the clutch to get the rpms up when exiting.
I'm no expert or anything, so try this stuff by yourself first since I'm not positive that real times are actually faster. It does look cooler than understeer though!!
