HP from what I understand is just a calculated # based Posted by jak [Email] (#195) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jak) on Sun, 7 Nov 2004 13:10:17 In Reply to: Very good question!, Pa Taket, Sun, 7 Nov 2004 07:56:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
on how long torque can be heald up
my cummins TD makes 400 ft lb torque & 150BHP stock it makes that torque for a verry short RPM spann (400RPM) thus the low HP #
my car made 240WHP & like 270 torque at the wheels & when you look at the dyno chart that torque is being heald up pretty high for a pretty good spann mabey 2000rpm
the RX8 may make a low torque but hold it up there for like 3KRPM which makes the engines pull verry long in the RPM range this is why torque is low & HP is high sorta the oposite of my truck :-) but thru gearing can be multiplied
this is how I see it
take care
