Deflection is tough on bearings, also overload. The fact the C900 tranny is bolted to the engine may result in some interesting deflections due to asymmetrical temperatures in the engine - transmission assembly. On top of that there is the different temperature coeffients between the aluminum head and transmission housing and the iron block in between. There is some issue with the pinion bearing carrier since it is known to crack and was beefed up in later years.
