Hi All,

I'm kind of migrating this question over from the NG900 forum (Hi, CK).
Basically, I'm getting the feeling that something is wrong w/ the
throttle response of my car :

* '97 SE 2.0 turbo, auto tranny
* 113k mi
* new DI cassette, front O2 sensor, plugs
* new Mobil 1 0W40, Mobil 1 ATF, 91 Octane, techron (prev tank)
* elevation : 6500-8000 ft
* Dawes MBC, peaks about 1/4 into red
* Gas mileage (on SID) is around 22-26 MPG
* Stock exhaust with enhanced flow (rust holes) to be replaced RSN

Starting from rest, I step on the pedal and get dog-slow response for
what feels like forever (maybe 3 seconds ?) then when I'm (finally !)
up to about 30 MPH it starts to take off like a rocket and keeps going
'til I chicken out. I know there's still some easy mods (K&N,
silencer removal) to add more power, but my specific concern right now
is that something is degrading my throttle response compared to where
a similarly equipped car *should* be. I've read about people spinning
out in 1st, and chirping in second with what seem to be comparable
setups.

Q : Are there any obvious culprits that could make the throttle
response sluggish ? MAP sensor, AIC, glovebox light bulb ???

Q: Is there something that limits boost in 1st & 2nd on an auto
tranny-equipped 900 SE ? With the Dawes device installed (BPC out of
the loop) I think the answer to this *has* to be no, right ?

Q: I'm pretty sure "fuel cuts" only happen at high RPMS, not at low
RPM in 1st & 2nd, right ? If I got a fuel cut, would I definitely
notice it ? I haven't really screwed down the Dawes device to go any
farther into the red, and as far as I can tell haven't had any fuel
cuts.

Maybe I just haven't come to terms with turbo lag, but when people ask
"Don't you just love 1st and 2nd gear", I feel like I'm on the wrong
planet...

TIA,

jeff
