I just got mine back from a local shop, Custom Balancing & Blueprinting. The friction surface was badly cracked and discoloured before; the change is amazing. He said they had to take off .007" to get rid of the cracks. Interesting to me is that the surface rust you can see on the friction surface is completely invisible to the human eye without the camera. He said he got it down to 14lbs, but I haven't had a chance to weigh it yet.
